Spetses is one of the Guardian’s holiday suggestions

“We all feel blessed to live here,” confesses 74-year-old Yannis Manitaras, who was born and raised in Spetses, to the journalist.

After the premiere of the film, many people started talking about the small island of the Saronic Gulf, while Guardian correspondent Helena Smith suggests that the British newspaper’s readers should visit Spetses because it is “one of the best destinations for 2023”.

“It’s easy to see why everyone is talking about Spetses. For two years in a row, the island in the Saronic Gulf has starred in Hollywood blockbusters. First came The Lost Daughter, the drama based on Elena Ferrante’s novel, and then Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, a crime film starring Daniel Craig, premiered. The picturesque island is gearing up for an even bigger rise in 2023,” the reporter originally wrote.
